Our intriguing blend of Bordeaux grapes with 45% Petit Verdot, 40% Cabernet Franc, 8% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Melbec. This wine features notes of black cherry and toasted oak on the nose and palette along with ripe blackberry that lingers on a long finish. All AmRhein's wines are made from 100% estate grown grapes cultivated in our three vineyard locations in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia since 1995.
Our 2017 Melange is a full bodied dry red blend from some our finest grapes coming from our Botetourt and Franklin County vineyards. It consists of 40% Merlot, 32% Petite Verdot, and 28% Cabernet Franc. The Merlot is grown in Botetourt County and the Petite Verdot and the Cabernet Franc come from our Franklin County Vineyard. The wines were all produced as single varietals, aged for 18 months in neutral French Oak barrels and blended prior to bottling.
