Fall Foliage Peaks in October on the Blue Ridge Parkway

Tour the Blue Ridge Parkway by car, motorcycle, bike or on foot, and enjoy the scenic vistas, recreation areas, and places to watch the autumn sunset. It’s a magical time of year.

Known as "America's Favorite Drive," the Blue Ridge Parkway is a ribbon of road covering 469 miles, connecting Cherokee life in North Carolina with Southern Appalachian music, crafts and wines. Bent Mountain, home of AmRhein’s Wine Cellars, spans an elevation of 2,615 feet and is a must-stop on the Virginia's Plateau. The Virginia Department of Forestry predicts that the best time to witness the fall foliage is from October 12 through the end of the month. When the deciduous trees change colors and drop their leaves this natural spectacle

warrants a visit to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Check out the most up to date information on the Virginia Fall Foliage Report from the Virginia Department of Forestry.
